Carry Me: Swarm Bags

I've coveted Leslie Oschman's painted canvas bags for quite a while now. I thought I'd take a peek to see if she had any new ones posted on her site and I saw these great, new bags that she's made. They're made from vintage fabrics and linens, with vintage embroidery hoops as handles. I just love them! So now I want one of these too. Images from the Swarm web site.

The Little Black Dress

Natalie Wood sure does look amazing in her little black dress here. I love this picture. She looks like she's about to conquer the city, maybe even the world! I went on a hunt for a new little back dress (for an occasion to come), and found quite a few at Zara. Every gal need a little black dress, right? I have a few, but they're old-ish, and I'm just a little bored with them. So I decided to get a new one. I love Zara. Their color palate is, well, a little lacking in color--quite neutral, but I often love their clothes. Zara did not disappoint. They had so much to choose from. I tried on a handful of little blacks, and could have come home with a new black dress wardrobe, but I settled on two. And the prices are so reasonable, I think, for the quality. Here are a few little black dresses from Zara right now.
And these last two are the ones I bought. They both look much better on, I think, than in the pictures. I especially love the last one. It looks really good on, and I love the fabric. All of these are in the dresses section on the Zara web site

Liberty!

YAY, we have the internet again at our place!! You know what that means, right? That means I can catch up on blogs and spend entirely too much time online window shopping (uh, and paying bills and doing household stuff like that). Have you seen the new Liberty of London line for Target? I love it! It's probably been swirling around on blogs, but I had my first peek yesterday. I love Liberty fabric and the Liberty store here in London, but the real deal is a wee bit out of my price range, so I'm super excited to see some Liberty at Target. Looks promising, don't you think? Unfortunately almost everything is out of stock. Guess I'm not the only one who's into it. Liberty for him, her, baby and home! See it here at Target

Lil' Holiday Dresses

I've been looking around for some holiday dresses for Lois and of course I love so many (girl clothes are just so darn cute).  I want to get one dress for her to wear in pictures to send with our Christmas cards, and one she can wear in her picture with Santa.  I love these two dresses from The Gap.  I picture her in the white cable knit dress in a pile of leaves for her holiday picture and then in the red check party dress in her Santa picture.  I'd actually like grown-up versions of either of these dresses!  There are so many great local designers, though, who make really beautiful handmade clothes.  I think I'll head over to Mabuhay just to see what's in store.

PS. I'm feeling much better.  Finally!

Could Have Fooled Me

Yesterday I saw a woman wearing the cutest skirt. It was a black pleated skirt with a thick trompe l'oeil white lace border near the hem. It was a little bit like this sweet Esther Coombs teapot below, but with inverse colors. Once I started looking for some fun trompe l'oeil clothes and whatnot, I got a little carried away for a while. Here's a bit of what I found.

1. Vintage Hermes found here. 2. Teapot by Esther Coombs. 3. T-shirt previously from Urban Outfitters. 4. Dress by Eley Kishimoto. 5. Charlotte Ronson dress found here. 6. Moschino sweater. 7. For home, a fun dresser. Oh and here's a cute sailor T-shirt on ebay.

Playing Dress Up

I've spent way to much time today (along with Caroline) looking at cute pictures of Emily of The Black Apple on her other fashion blog. How cute is she, right? Now I just want to throw out all my t-shirts and dress up. I'll start with this hat above from Trophy Clothing on etsy and this cute dress (or something like it) from Target, or maybe this one (both on super sale and with good reviews in general). I have shoes and a little sweater I can wear to make the look complete. You can just call me Audrey after I'm all dolled up. But where oh where will I go all dressed up? Should I strap Lois on in the carrier and make our usual rounds walking to the post office, grocery store and wallgreens? I think not. I would just look silly! I need a place to go all dressed up. Want to come over for a cocktail party? That would do.

Old Navy for Baby

I'm trying to find a cute Christmas dress for Lois. I had an adorable red, black and yellow plaid mini skirt that I was going to put with a turtleneck and tights, but I can't find the skirt anywhere. I bought it before we even found out we were having a girl--it was that cute. So now I need to find her a little outfit for her first Christmas and for her first pictures with Santa. I love this little sweater dress above from Old Navy. And the dress below, how cute would that be with a red turtleneck? And for under $20 for both of them, the price is right since the little bundle is growing so fast. I like H & M for baby too, so I'm going to check there before deciding on the sweater dress.
