DIY Sewing Tutorial Belle Epoque Whimsy Bias Tape Grandma Bag Tote

I recently made this little tote for my toddler using the super easy tutorial posted by Nancy of Belle Epoque. I used fabric and bias tape I had on hand, therefore it's not a perfect match. I don't think Makenna noticed. ;) I made the kanzashi flower embellishment based on this tutorial (video tutorial), and added a fabric covered button. It did take me a few tries to sew the petals together properly, but I'm pretty happy with the end result. And, Makenna loves it. I think I'll have to make one for myself...

DIY Craft Tutorial Heather Bailey Paper Globe Valentine Ornaments

You may have seen these Valentine ornaments on the web, but thought I'd post them just in case you missed them. Heather Bailey has a great tutorial to create these fabulous paper globe ornaments. Perfect for teacher gifts or decorations.

Update::
I tried this tutorial out with my teenage girls and were pretty happy with the results. Below is my Valentine ornament. Granted, mine is not nearly as gorgeous as Heather's. My girls each made one for their friends for Valentine's Day featuring their favorite band. They were a HUGE hit with all of their friends. Of course my girls wanted one of their own to hang from the ceiling in their room to gaze endlessly at. I decided to get wise and purchase a circle cutter, about $15 at Michael's. I highly suggest purchasing one if you plan on making more than a couple. Not only does it save tons of time, but it also creates perfectly cut circles.

Pick up some gift tins from the check stand at Michael's and place the magnets inside. It's perfect for Christmas gifts or stocking stuffers.

Get Crafty Tutorial. Kids Crafts Create Bound Journals or Sticker Books

Five and a Half offers a simple tutorial on how to create your own bound book with materials you may already have. It's a great craft to do with your children. My three year old helped create her own little travel coloring book that's great for when we're on the go. Another great idea would be to create a sticker book using sticker sheets and plain paper.
