Fun at Home

I had a great time in Atlanta seeing my mom, sister and nephews! Andrew had the good camera with him in Japan so I brought our little point and shoot digital camera. It's good, too, but not nearly as good as the other one, and a lot of my pictures are blurry, too bright and just not very good, so I don't have much to report from home in the picture department. My nephews are cute no matter what though! Cash is the older one, and Wyatt is the little one. My sister asked Cash what he thought I was having, a boy or a girl (he knows there's a baby in my belly even though I don't think he understands that). He said a boy. We asked what its name should be, and he said, "grandma!" We were cracking up when he said this! He loves his grandma. And he loves kisses. What boy doesn't?

Other than hanging out with the boys, we also went to the Inman Park festival. It was great, but when we headed out for the day, I checked my camera to make sure it was charged enough, and it had three bars, so I thought that would be good for the day. Before we got to the festival I took a short video of my nephews (the camera also does video) and then it went down to no bars and shut off! I was able to get just a few pictures of my friend Shelley's booth at the festival before the camera officially died for the day. Shelley makes super cute vintage button jewelry and headbands and aprons from vintage fabrics and tea towels. I loved the way she displayed her hairpins on vintage cards.


I had a great time. Next time I go to Atlanta, I hope to show you more.

NEYO IS COMING CLOSER TO PINE VALLEY

Ne-Yo is coming closer to Pine Valley.
The singer-songwriter will perform his songs Closer and Stop This World during an All My Children guest stint set to air May 21 and May 22. Ne-Yo will appear on the ABC daytime soap during the long anticipated second wedding of Angie and Jesse Hubbard, the supercouple played by Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams.

Of course, All My Children being All My Children, the wedding will not go according to plan. Following the Grammy winner's performance at the reception, the bride will be kidnapped and taken away on a helicopter. The characters of Angie and Jesse Hubbard recently reunited after a 20-year absence following Jesse's presumed death.

The show will air May 21st and Ne-yo will perform Closer and Stop This World.

There's a chance Mariah Carey will be looking for a new backup singer soon. While performing her No. 1 hit 'Touch My Body' on Good Morning America, the R&B diva turned around and scolded a backup singer, singing "Stop singing my part ... now baby ..." Carey's response to the backup singer's flub was the least of her problems.
As Mimi stood at the top of the steps of the elaborate stage in the center of Times Square in New York the back-up track of the song started a little bit too early. In true diva fashion, Mimi managed to shake off the backing track slipup while improvising in her skintight, hot pink dress. "A little creative. I try to bring something new to the moment every time," Carey said after the performance.

WESLEY SNIPES SENTENCED/POLICE OFFICERS ACQUITTED IN SEAN BELL CASE-Pop Flavor

There's no justice and no peace for Wesley Snipes and the family members of a deceased Sean Bell

A federal judge on Thursday sentenced the actor Wesley Snipes to three years in prison for willfully failing to file tax returns. Mr. Snipes, who was convicted in February, received one year for each count, to be served consecutively, and an additional year of probation. The sentence was handed down by Judge William Terrell Hodges of Federal District Court.

Mr. Snipes, who apologized for his actions before the sentence was announced, showed no immediate reaction to the verdict.

Three New York City detectives were found not guilty of all charges on Friday in the shooting death of an unarmed black man killed in a hail of 50 bullets on his wedding day, sparking an angry demonstration outside the courthouse.

A New York state judge cleared two police officers of manslaughter and other charges and a third of reckless endangerment in the death of Sean Bell, 23. Bell was shot, along with two friends, after a bachelor party at a strip club in November 2006.
