Brief Intro:
Cousins Demetrius “Meany” Hardin and Richard “Fat” Stephens grew up with best friend Rasheed “Sheed” Hightower in Bankhead, Atlanta. The trio who classify their rap song "Party Like A Rockstar" as a "newly created sub-genre" known as hood rock, have set off a frenzy with hip-hoppers and rockers alike.Hood rock, Sheed says, ”[has] got energy and a rock feel to it but at the same time it’s all about rocking the club, getting the club charged up. We don’t want to say crunk because we’re not followers of the crunk movement. We’re trying to have our own sound that’s still energetic.”Shop Boyz’s debut CD, “Rock Star Mentality,”is set to be released on June 19th.

First Thought That comes to mind:Party like a rock star!
Video Review:The video is a great complement to the song and is a testimony of how very different Shop Boyz tries to be.
Song Review: "Party Like a Rock Star" is fast becoming a Billboard chart topper with its contagious hook and energetic sounds. The rap/rocker musicians pride themselves on being different, with an edgier, more rock feel. “I think our sound is different,” says Sheed, “because we would listen to what everybody else was doing and we thrived on not doing what everybody else was doing. Well, Sheed, I must protest, for the lyrics to "Party Like A Rock Star " are very similar to the lyrics of today's Hip-hop songs. The pervasive term "hoes"in Shop Boyz' song proves that though Shop Boyz would like to think that their innovative, they realy are not. Hood rock, huh? What is Hood rock Exactly?Just great sounds?
Rating:Overall good song, not so great lyrics 4 Hershey Kisses
